KAREN SCOTT

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Karen Scott is a former educational administrator of 25 years and has found her passion in philanthropy to support under-resourced kids. Within the past 6 years, Karen has been a senior leader in development at various nonprofit organizations where she created a culture of philanthropy through authentic engagement and meaningful stewardship. Karen earned a Master of Science in Human Capital and Leadership Management and a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management from New York University. Additionally, she holds a certificate in Nonprofit Leadership Management from LaSalle University. Karen joined KEYS in June, 2022.

GRETCHEN ANDERSON

DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS 
Gretchen Anderson has a background in the education and nonprofit fields. She lived and taught abroad in the Dominican Republic and has worked as both a teacher and administrator in ESL programs for adults at UCONN Stamford and CT State Norwalk. Before coming to KEYS, she was the ELL Program Director at Building One Community in Stamford, running an adult ESL program that served around 1000 adult learners annually. Gretchen has a Master’s in TESOL from Hunter College and a BA in Spanish Literature from Wesleyan University.

AMY GRISWOLD

DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT 
Amy Griswold earned a Master of Music from Ithaca College in 2012 and pursued post-graduate coursework at UCONN’s School of Public Policy (Nonprofit Management) and the Hartt School of Music (Violin). Additionally, Amy earned professional teaching credentials through the International Suzuki Association of the Americas while in graduate school. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, Amy taught undergraduate music education courses and supervised music education majors at the IC Lab School. A native of Wichita, Kansas, Amy earned a Bachelor of Music from Wichita State University. Amy is inspired to contribute to KEYS’ mission by helping Bridgeport students reach their educational goals. Amy benefited from a gift of free violin lessons for 11 years from her childhood teacher and was able to attend music school through full-tuition undergraduate and graduate scholarships.

DAWN LOPEZ

ADMINSTRATIVE ASSISTANT 
Dawn Lopez is an accounting professional with experience in both public and private organizations, including serving as an auditor at Ernst & Young and working in accounting roles within private companies. She has developed strong expertise in financial reporting, audits, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations. In addition to her work in accounting, she is actively involved in a nonprofit organization, where she helps connect families who have limited access to resources with the information and support they need. She also volunteers in music education, serving as treasurer and assisting with a wide range of administrative and operational tasks in two music programs. Dawn has a strong passion for music and believes in its ability to inspire creativity, confidence, and connection.

  • Retired consulting actuary with Aon, bringing to KEYS expertise in financial risk analysis, long-term planning, and data-driven decision making to support strong governance and organizational sustainability

  • Member of the KEYS Board since 2007

  • Passionate about the mission of KEYS and the power of free music education to create opportunity and lasting impact for young people

  • Amateur clarinetist and swimmer, lives in NYC with his wife, and has 3 adult children


    Greg Smith

Treasurer

  • Has worked in HR and the total rewards field for more than 25 years, including as a compensation consultant at Mercer, as well as holding several compensation & benefits leadership roles at PepsiCo

  • Member of the KEYS Board since 2023

  • He has long believed in the mission of KEYS and has been a volunteer for more than 10 years. Supporting KEYS’ work and witnessing its impact firsthand has been both inspiring and rewarding for him

  • Loves reading, travel, and outdoor activities, including bicycling, competitive swimming and hiking


    Dawn Taylor

Secretary

  • Vice President & Retail Lending Underwriting Manager, Newtown Savings Bank bringing to KEYS rigorous risk assessment, sound financial judgment, and a strategic leadership perspective that enhances organizational resilience and responsible growth

  • Member of the KEYS Board since January 2026

  • She is passionate about the Bridgeport community and holds KEYS in high regard for its distinguished role in enhancing equitable opportunities for a quality music education and in strengthening the city’s long term cultural and educational foundation

  • Actively engaged in volunteer service and lives in Naugatuck with her husband and son

Greg Bauer

Director

  • Career in digital health with leadership roles in strategy, marketing and business development, where he brings expertise in these disciplines to KEYS’ donor outreach, fundraising and partner development activities

  • Member of the KEYS Board since 2017

  • He firmly believes in the KEYS mission and is committed to identifying and following paths that incorporate music instruction into the development of under-resourced children in Bridgeport, so that we create more opportunities to transform their lives

  • Enjoys sports and travel. Lives in Rowayton with his wife and has two grown daughters 

Dan Berg

Director

  • Software product technologist, advisor and consultant, currently serving as Chief Technology Officer at Archway Group, a fintech company in the ultra-high net worth / family office space

  • Member of the KEYS Board since February 2026

  • As a lifelong musician, he plays in two bands, has worked with and mentored youth musicians, and understands the power of music to open doors, minds, and create lifelong opportunities for learning, connection, advancement and artistic fulfillment

  • Lives in Wilton and has 3 adult children. In addition to making music, he loves travel, hiking, concert-going, has run 4 NYC Marathons, and aims to solve a few longstanding mysteries regarding our comprehension of the cosmos and the subatomic world

Marina Philips

Director

  • Retired Professor of Mathematics at Housatonic Community College, where she taught for 25 years and served as Math Coordinator. Her experience in both education and nonprofit leadership has given her a deep appreciation for the dedication and strategic vision required to sustain mission-driven organizations.

  • Member of the KEYS Board since January 2026

  • Passionate about the transformative, long-term impact of music education on young people. She strongly believes that access to quality music education enriches children’s intellectual and emotional development, a belief reinforced by her own children’s experiences in the Fairfield public schools and the Fairfield County Children’s Choir

  • Enjoys hiking and yoga and lives in Fairfield with her husband

Tim Roof

Director 

  • Retired human resource consultant and business leader with extensive volunteer experience with nonprofits, providing expertise to KEYS in HR strategy and operations, business management and nonprofit operations

  • Member of the KEYS Board since 2025

  • Committed advocate for the KEYS mission to support personal growth in young people through music education 

  • Long-term Connecticut resident. Has three adult children and one young dog. Avid tennis player and skier

Scott Weber

Director

  • A purpose-, people- and performance-driven executive who has established a 40-year track record of starting companies, raising capital, restructuring businesses, navigating mergers/acquisitions, investing, serving as corporate and non-profit board member, and driving value for shareholders and customers

  • Previously served on the KEYS Board from January 2018 to May 2021; rejoined Board in January 2026

  • Through his prior work with KEYS and other similar causes, he has seen how providing children with free instruments and instruction, along with opportunities to collaborate and perform alongside other children and adults, can have a deeply positive impact on their lives

  • Amateur guitarist who likes to write and record songs with his singer-songwriter wife, Nancy
