  • Electronic Music Lab at Bassick High School In the fall of 2016, KEYS’ instructor John Konya, along with a college intern from University of New Haven, set up an electronic music lab at Bassick High School in Bridgeport. Instructor John Konya says, “the support has been incredible and, though we have a long way to go, the lab is already providing opportunities to students who otherwise would not have had the chance.” The eventual goal of the start-up lab is to replicate its success in other KEYS schools. The Electronic Music Lab at Bassick currently operates on a three day a week schedule and offers students a casual, comfortable environment to learn about music composition and production.   • Music Success Story Started Under the Stairs June 26, 2015, Christian Science Monitor, by Cathryn J. Prince.    Bridgeport, Conn. — Just Say Yes.  Those three words led Rob Silvan, a jazz musician and composer, to launch KEYS, Kids Empowered by Your Support.   • Giuliani Foundation supports KEYS cello program in Bridgeport, CT July 31, 2014:  It’s not every day when you leave a music store with 4 new cellos.   It was an exciting moment at the Creative Music Center in Monroe, CT when Rob Silvan, Executive Director of KEYS (Kids Empowered by Your Support, Inc.) took delivery of 4 new cellos to be used by cello students during their one-to-one lessons and during orchestra rehearsals of the KEYS orchestra.  A generous $4,000 grant from The Amalia & Nicola Giuliani Foundation for Religion and the Arts funded not only the purchase of the new cellos, but will also pay for cello lessons for 4 students during the upcoming school year.
